Co-Founder and CTO, Day Zero Diagnostics

Miriam Huntley is the CTO and a Co-Founder of Day Zero Diagnostics, a Boston-based genomics startup that was spun out of Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital. Day Zero Diagnostics is pioneering a new class of infectious disease diagnostics using whole-genome sequencing and machine learning to develop a rapid and comprehensive diagnostic for bacterial infections. As CTO of the company Miriam leads the development of machine learning and computational biology methods for pathogen genomic data analysis. Through her work at Day Zero, Miriam has been honored as a TedMed Hive Innovator and a MedTech Boston 40 Under 40 Healthcare Innovator. Miriam earned her BSc from MIT in Physics and her PhD in Applied Math at Harvard University.

Co-founder and CEO, Tender Food

Co-founder and CEO of Tender Food - a company creating alternative meats with the right taste and texture. Previously a program lead (post-doc) at the Wyss Institute to develop and validate functionality of regenerative heart valve bioprosthetics in preclinical studies. Chris has also supported various efforts to commercialize technologies developed at the Parker Lab, ranging from sustainable foods, textiles and regenerative medicine.
Received a PhD in Integrative Human Physiology with a focus in biomaterials for regenerative medicine applications. Research was carried out between the University of Zurich (Wyss Translational Center Zurich) and Harvard University (Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering). Received Bachelor and Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering from EPFL and ETH Zurich, respectively.
